Anna Matysiak completed her PhD in Economics at Warsaw School of Economics in 2009. Since then she has been working as Assistant Professor at the Institute of Statistics and Demography, Warsaw School of Economics, and since 2013 she has been a Research Scientist at the Vienna Institute of Demography.

Her main research interests cover family dynamics and its interrelationships with gender relations, family policies as well as socio-economic status of individuals. She is also interested in studying consequences of family-related behaviours on quality of life.
