European Doctoral School of Demography: Call for Applications

The European Doctoral School of Demography Program 2023-2024 is now accepting applications!

The EDSD is an eleven-month sponsored program that is offered every year aiming to provide students with an appropriate high-level education in demography to pursue their doctoral studies. It is open to applicants with a Master's degree in demography or related fields. EDSD has been held at several universities and research institutes. Next year, the core courses will take place at the Institut National d’Études Démographiques in Paris.

WIC researchers have been involved as lecturers for many years. In next year's programme, Bernhard Binder-Hammer will teach a course on "Generational Economy" within the module "Population Challenges".

In assessing the effects of these forces on long-term human well-being, we combine scientific excellence in a multidisciplinary context with relevance to a global audience. It is a collaboration among the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW), the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) and the University of Vienna.
